Weeks are flying by, and so here we are with already the 8th (!) week of the atlanta + amsterdam project! This week the theme is MARKETS, so Andrea and I both went into our cities Atlanta and Amsterdam to shoot something with our beloved Polaroid SX-70.
My polaroid, on the right, was shot this Monday morning, during the weekly antique and bric-a-brac market at Noordermarkt. This market, on the foot of the Noorderkerk, a church, is located in the beautiful Jordaan. Every Monday morning there are treasures to be found, and you're most likely to find them when you go early when all the tourists are still asleep. I walked around, meandering through piles of vintage clothes and fabrics, for something nice to shoot. And then I found this little scene, a stall filled to the brim with colourful lace, trims and buttons from past times, displayed in little tins and vintage suitcases. When I asked the lady if I could take a photo she agreed, but only if she wouldn't be part of the composition. So I promised...
On the left you can see Andrea's polaroid of the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. Make sure to head over to her beautiful blog to read her story about the polaroid she shot!
